A.G. Gangadhar, chief technology officer for General Motor Co.’s Cruise Automation unit, has quit after six months.
Gangadhar attributes his departure to disagreements with CEO Kyle Vogt regarding the direction of the engineering team, which is developing GM’s autonomous-driving system. He joined GM last September from Uber Technologies Inc. and says he left on good terms with Cruise.
Bloomberg News notes that Gangadhar also arrived at GM tainted by complaints that he helped enable Uber’s well-publicized toxic sexist culture. But a source also tells the news service that hiring of high-level female executives at Cruise rose during Gangadhar’s tenure there.
