German investigators raided the homes of several current and former Audi AG employees earlier today as part of a continuing probe of diesel emission test cheating by Volkswagen AG.
Germany’s Sueddeutsche Zeitung says the raids were conducted in three of the country’s states. Prosecutors tell Reuters the number of current or former Audi employees under suspicion has climbed to 13 from six but does not include any senior Audi executives.
Several Audi offices and facilities were raided last March as part of the same investigation. The probe is focused on Audi’s role in rigging the division’s 3.0-liter V-6 diesels to evade emission regulations.
