Volkswagen AG dismisses as “completely unfounded” a report by Der Spiegel claiming that at least 30 of the company’s managers will be suspended for helping to rig as many as 11 million of the company’s diesel-powered cars to cheat government emission tests.
Last week Michael Horn, CEO of Volkswagen of America, told a Congressional panel “a couple of software engineers” are to blame.

Reuters says VW Group CEO Matthias Mueller is scheduled to update top managers today about the status of the probes, which are being conducted by VW and the U.S. law firm Jones Day.
