PSA Peugeot Citroen resumed operations on Monday at its assembly plant in Aulnay, France, after a 10-day halt caused by labor unrest.

As the factory reopened, about 200 members of the CGT union again temporarily blocked production at the facility, which is scheduled to close in 2014. CGT says workers want new jobs, early retirement at age 55 and permanent contracts for all employees.

Workers occupied the plant on Jan. 16, and PSA locked out strikers last week. The company says it used part of that time to repair damage caused by some protesters.

PSA is scheduled to meet with its unions on Tuesday to discuss its plans to eliminate 8,000 jobs in France. The company says the demonstrations involved a minority of the facility's 2,800 employees.
