Ford Motor Co. says it will dismiss about 680 workers next year at its assembly plant in Craiova, Romania, because of weak demand for the facility's B-Max minivan.
B-Max sales have slumped 21% this year as more consumers opt for SUV/crossover models instead, according to Reuters.
Ford has eliminated 42 days of production at the Craiova plant in a series of stoppages over the past 14 months. The company says it is studying the possibility of adding a second model at the facility, which began making the B-Max two years ago.
