Toyota Motor Co. has agreed to a 5.7% wage hike at its assembly plant in Durban, South Africa, thus ending a three-day walkout there, according to the National Union of Metalworkers of South Africa.

The company says production resumed on Friday. Toyota estimates it lost 2,450 units of output at the factory, or 14% of average monthly production. The facility makes cars, trucks and minibuses.

The job action at Toyota follows a series of strikes at South African gold and platinum mines. Workers complain that rising prices of food and fuel are squeezing their paychecks.
