Renault Mulls CEO Candidates
Henri Poupart-Lafarge, who heads French transportation and infrastructure giant Alstom, has joined the short list of contenders to become the CEO of Renault.

Henri Poupart-Lafarge, who heads French transportation and infrastructure giant Alstom SA, reportedly has joined the short list of contenders to become the CEO of Renault SA.
Renault has been searching for a CEO since Thierry Bollore was fired in October. Other possible successors are said to include Luca de Meo, who heads Volkswagen Group's SEAT brand, and Faurecia CEO Patrick Koller.
Renault has spoken with Poupart-Lafarge (pictured) to gauge his interest in the job, sources tell France’s BFM Business television station. Poupart-Lafarge, who joined Alstom in 1992 and has served as Chairman and CEO since early 2016, is well regarded for his work with the company. But he lacks the automotive experience of the other candidates.
De Meo started his career with Renault and also has worked at Toyota. He is said to be the top choice of Renault Chairman Jean-Dominique Senard.
The French government, which owns 15% of Renault, reportedly favors Koller. He joined Faurecia in 2006 and has been CEO since July 2016.
Renault will discuss the candidates at a board meeting on Dec. 10, according to BFM. Clotilde Delbos, who is serving as Renault’s interim CEO, was appointed to Alstom's board last year.
