Lawyers who represent thousands of U.S. plaintiffs in Volkswagen AG’s $10 billion diesel cheating settlement are asking for a combined $333 million in fees and administrative costs, Reuters reports.
The request appears in a filing in a U.S. District Court in San Francisco. The document says the two sides have not yet agreed on how much the lawyers will be paid.
A determination will be made by Judge Charles Breyer, who has presided over the complex deal. The settlement requires VW to fix or buy back 475,000 of its vehicles that were rigged with software to evade federal emission tests.
