Hyundai Motor Co. will introduce a fuel cell-powered commercial bus and a second-generation version of its Tucson “iv” fuel cell vehicle by the end of 2018.
The company will begin marketing the bus next year, according to The Nikkei. The newspaper says the upgraded Tucson will debut in January 2018 with a range of 560 km (350 miles) per fill-up of hydrogen fuel—a range 30% greater than the current model.
Hyundai hopes to hold the price of the fuel-cell Tucson at 60 million won ($50,300). Government subsidies in South Korea would reduce that price by one-third.
