Honda Motor Co. is partnering with Amazon.com to offer package deliveries directly to select 2019- and 2020-model vehicles equipped with the carmaker’s Honda/Acura Link Remote platform.

Dubbed Amazon Key In-Car, the service delivers packages to parked vehicles within two blocks of their selected delivery areas, whether or not a person is there to take delivery. This allows Amazon to use a one-time code to unlock vehicles via a smartphone app.
Packages are dropped off within a four-hour delivery window. Customers receive notifications when the delivery is on its way, after it is completed and when the vehicle is relocked.
The service is available on Honda Accord, Accord Hybrid and Insight sedans, Passport and Pilot SUVs, Odyssey minivans and Acura RDX crossover vehicles. The vehicles must have a Link Remote subscription, which costs $110 per year. Link Remote also enables remote start/stop, remote lock/unlock, geofence alerts, stolen vehicle locator, destination by voice and speed alerts.
In addition, vehicle owners must have an Amazon Prime account, which costs $13 per month. Ford, General Motors and Volvo also offer in-car deliveries through Amazon.
