Ford to Invest $1.3 Billion in Mexico
Ford Motor Co. says it plans to invest $1.3 billion at its assembly and stamping plants in Hermosillo, Mexico, to prepare for the production launch of the next-generation Ford Fusion and Lincoln MKZ sedans for the North American market.
Ford Motor Co. says it plans to invest $1.3 billion at its assembly and stamping plants in Hermosillo, Mexico, to prepare for the production launch of the next-generation Ford Fusion and Lincoln MKZ sedans for the North American market.
The company says the investment will create 1,000 jobs over the next few years.
The Fusion and MKZ will be the first models to be ride on Ford's new global midsize platform. The Hermosillo factory will produce gasoline-powered, hybrid and plug-in hybrid versions of the Fusion.
The Fusion will go on sale this autumn. Ford will publicly unveil the MKZ at the New York auto show this week.
