Ford Motor Co. has created a team to speed up the company’s electric-car programs, including looking for partners and lining up suppliers.
Sherif Marakby, Ford’s vice president of autonomous vehicles and electrification, tells Reuters the group’s aim is to evaluate the EV market holistically and make faster business and development decisions.
Marakby did not indicate the size of the group, dubbed Team Edison. He says the effort will be headquartered in the Detroit area and coordinate with regional counterparts in China and Europe. The team will report to Ted Cannis, Ford’s global director of electrification.
