Delphi Automotive has joined a partnership formed by BMW, Intel and Mobileye to develop autonomous vehicle technologies.
BMW, Intel and Mobileye formed their partnership last July and aim by 2021 to offer autonomous vehicle control systems for multiple carmakers. They say they already have developed a scalable architecture that enables various levels of autonomously controlled driving.
Delphi’s role will be to help integrate the components, subsystems and software involved. The company previously developed a platform that combined sensors, artificial intelligence software and multiple computing devices.
Delphi and Mobileye have worked together since 2002 on various active safety features. The two companies agreed last August to collaborate on developing an autonomous driving platform.
