Chrysler Group LLC says Dan Knott, senior vice president for purchasing and supplier quality, has retired for medical reasons.
Knott, 51, has been replaced by Scott Kunselman, who has been Chrysler's senior vice president for engineering.
Mark Chernoby has assumed Kunselman's former title and engineering duties. Chernoby will retain responsibility for product portfolio management on the Fiat-Chrysler Group Executive Council. He also will remain product committee coordinator for the NAFTA region.
During a 24-year career at Chrysler, Knott helped develop the Dodge Viper sports car, Jeep Grand Cherokee SUV and the SRT performance line. Analysts credit him with impressive progress in mending the company's frayed relations with suppliers.
