This is the Rimac Concept_One.
It is an electric vehicle. It comes from Rimac Automobili. Rimac Automobili is based in Sveta Nedelja, Croatia. That’s certainly out of the ordinary.
So is the Rimac Concept_One.
According to the company, this electric vehicle has a power output of 1,088 hp. It provides 1,180 lb-ft of torque from 0 to 6,500 rpm and it goes from 0 to 62 mph in 2.8 seconds. There are four wheel motors; Rimac Automobili D-PM-OC-600 high-speed dual permanent magnet oil-cooled motors providing a peak 600 kW in the front, and similar 400-kW motors in the rear. There is a lithium-iron-phosphate (LiFEPO4) battery pack with a 91 kWh capacity used. The “realistic range” for the vehicle is 311 miles.
The Concept_One features a carbon fiber monocoque with the battery pack, which is in a milled- and sheet-aluminum housing, integrated. There are carbon fiber subframes in the front and rear. There is a carbon fiber crash structure. Ceramic discs are used for the brakes all around.
Designers involved in the project are former employees of Pininfarina.
Mate Rimac, CEO of the company, who is 24, said of the car, “We started with a blank sheet of paper. The idea was to create an exceptional supercar with a new propulsion concept. What we have here is a fully fledged hypercar that is as powerful as a Bugatti, as stylish as a Ferrari, and as luxurious as a Mercedes, all while managing to forsake even the tiniest sip of gasoline.”
Price? Approximately $1-million.
