Hourly workers at Volkswagen AG’s assembly plant in Bratislava, Slovakia, have voted to begin a strike next Tuesday over demands for a 16% pay hike.

Last week VW rejected the wage demand as unacceptable. The company has offered to raise base pay 4.3%, improve other compensation and pay workers a one-time €350 ($395) signing bonus, according to Reuters.

The Bratislava plans assembles Audi Q7 and VW Touareg SUV/crossover vehicles and SEAT Mii, Skoda Citigo and VW Up minicars. The facility also makes bodies for the Bentley Bentayga and Porsche Cayenne SUV/crossovers.
