VW Launches Cybersecurity Company
Volkswagen AG and the former executives from Israel’s intelligence agency have formed a company that will develop cybersecurity systems for next-generation connected cars and mobile services.
Volkswagen AG and the former executives from Israel’s intelligence agency have formed a company that will develop cybersecurity systems for next-generation connected cars and mobile services.
CyMotive Technologies will be 40% owned by VW and 60% by Yuval Diskin and two other former officials of Israel’s Shin Bet (Shabak) security unit. The company will operate offices in Herzliya and Wolfsburg. VW did not indicate the size of its investment in the venture.
Diskin, who retired from Shin Bet in 2011 after heading the agency for six years, will chair the new company.
