Volvo Recalls Diesels to Fix Diesel Shutoff Flaw
Volvo Car Group is recalling about 59,000 of its 5-cylinder diesel cars to update faulty software that can briefing shut off and restart the engine while the vehicle is moving, the Associated Press reports.

Volvo Car Group is recalling about 59,000 of its 5-cylinder diesel cars to update faulty software that can briefing shut off and restart the engine while the vehicle is moving, the Associated Press reports.
Targeted vehicles are 2016 model 60 midsize sport sedans and wagons and 70 series large sedans and wagons. Almost all the cars are in Germany, Sweden and the U.K. There are no affected vehicles in the U.S.
The flaw shuts off and restarts the engine within one second, according to Volvo. It says dealers can install the software upgrade in less than 30 minutes.
