Riversimple Movement Ltd., a startup company based in Wales, says it is developing two more fuel cell-powered vehicles in addition to the previously announced Rasa coupe the company plans to launch in 2018.
The new models, which were unveiled earlier this week at the London auto show, include a sedan and van. Renderings of the vehicles indicate they will incorporate styling cues from the sleek-looking Rasa, which was penned by Fiat 500 designer Chris Reitz.
The van features an angular profile highlighted by a rising beltline. The rear wheels are covered to enhance aerodynamics. The sedan, which also sports covered rear wheels, is likened to the original Citroen DS and the Honda Insight.
Technical specifications for the new models weren’t announced. But they’re expected to share the Rasa’s 8.5-kW fuel cell system, which provides that vehicle with an estimated driving range of 300 miles.
Riversimple plans to begin public testing of 20 prototype Rasas later this year in London. It aims to lease about 3,500 of the vehicles in 2018.
