Toyota Motor Corp. and Park24 Co. are launching a new pilot program for car-sharing services in Tokyo.
The companies have been conducting similar tests in Japan for about three years. In the latest initiative, which is due to run from June to next March, users will have access to 60 Toyota C-HR subcompact crossover vehicles.
The program will be run by the carmaker’s new Toyota Mobility Service operations. Both Toyota and Park24 will provide specialized software to coordinate the car-sharing process and operations. The partners aim to build on their current capabilities and develop new onboard terminals and other technologies and services.
Park24’s current Times Car PLUS car-sharing business operates more than 20,000 vehicles and serves 900,000 members. The company, which operates parking lots throughout Japan, launched its car-sharing business more than four years agoRELATED CONTENT
