Tata Motors Ltd. has partnered with Microsoft Corp.’s Azure cloud services to offer customers such in-car features as advanced navigation and remote vehicle monitoring.

The collaboration also gives Tata access to Azure business tools in advanced analytics, machine learning, artificial intelligence and the Internet of Things.

Tata will showcase its first connected car under the company's new TAMO sub-brand at the Geneva auto show in March. Launched earlier this month, TAMO is intended to help the company more quickly introduce high-tech vehicles to the Indian market at low cost and volumes.

Tata says it is the first carmaker in India to tap Azure services. Microsoft has similar deals in other markets with such carmakers as BMW, Ford, Renault-Nissan and Toyota.
