Switzerland’s vehicle authority has temporarily halted the registration of new diesel-powered Porsche Cayenne SUVs because the vehicles use illegal emission control software, Automotive News Europe reports.
The ban covers 3.0-liter diesels and does not affect vehicles already registered in the country. Those engines, which were developed and supplied by Audi AG, are the subject of a broader recall announced at the end of last month.
Switzerland is expected to reinstate the diesel Cayennes after their software has been updated.
