Swiss engineering firm ABB Group says it will deliver another 117 quick-charge kiosks to energy supplier EnBW AG for use along the German autobahns.
Last year ABB won a contract to provide the utility with 68 of the compact 50-kW stations. The new batch of chargers will be installed at service plazas operated by Autobahn Tank & Rast GmbH.
ABB says it has installed more than 5,000 networked charging stations for cars and commercial vehicles worldwide. The company’s unit range in output from 20 kW wall boxes to 600-kW units for electric buses.
