Audi CEO Rupert Stadler told stockholders today they can expect no more unethical conduct in the aftermath of parent company Volkswagen AG’s widespread diesel emission cheating scandal, Reuters reports.

“We will continue until the job is done,” Stadler declares. Earlier this week Audi’s supervisory board agreed to extend Stadler’s contract to 2022 despite outside criticism of his handling of the diesel crisis.

Audi developed one of the engines, a 3.0-liter V-6, that used illegal software to evade regulatory emission limits for nitrogen oxides. VW has agreed to spend as much as $25 billion (€22.5 billion) in remediation for cheater diesels sold in the U.S., including about 80,000 equipped with the Audi engine.
