Russia’s Sollers to Open Assembly Plant in Vietnam
Russian carmaker OSJC Sollers confirms it intends to open a low-volume assembly plant in Vietnam in 2018.
Russian carmaker OSJC Sollers confirms it intends to open a low-volume assembly plant in Vietnam in 2018.
General Director Vadym Shvetsov tells the Vietnam News Service that Sollers is negotiating details with the Vietnamese government and local joint-venture partners.
Plans for the factory, which will have initial capacity to make 1,000 unspecified cars per year, were announced in July. In Russia, Sollers makes its own line of UAZ brand SUVs. The company also operates carmaking joint ventures with Ford, Mazda and SsangYong.
