Porsche AG says it has collected nearly 30,000 deposits for the all-electric Taycan sports car it will officially unveil in September.

The carmaker already plans to hike Taycan production to 40,000 units in the first year, Bloomberg News reports, citing an analyst’s note. If sales approach that volume, the newcomer (pictured) could outsell Porsche’s iconic 911 sports cars, which reached 35,600 deliveries last year.
The Taycan is likely to start at about €85,000 ($94,700). Previous reports say the car will be offered with three levels of electric power, including a 630-hp variant.
