Nissan Motor Co. says its longer-range Leaf e+ electric sedan will have a starting price of $37,450 when it arrives at U.S. dealerships this month.
The Leaf e+ is available in three trim levels. The top-end SL, which features LED headlights, an upscale interior and a host of driver-assist technologies, will start at $43,450.
By comparison, the base 2019 Leaf starts at about $30,000. That vehicle is powered by a 40-kWh battery that has a U.S. Environmental Protection Agency rating of 150 miles.
The Leaf e+ competes against the Chevrolet Bolt, Hyundai Kona Electric and Tesla Model 3 cars. The vehicles are priced within $2,000 of each other and have a similar driving range. Nissan unveiled the Leaf e+ in January at the CES electronics show in Las Vegas.
