JLR to Make Discovery Sport in Brazil

Jaguar Land Rover says its Land Rover Discovery Sport SUV will be one of the models it makes at the assembly plant it plans to open in Itatiaia, Brazil, in 2016.
The $750 million factory will be JLR's first wholly owned assembly plant outside the U.K.
Construction of the $750 million facility is scheduled to began later this year. The plant will have annual capacity to make 24,000 vehicles, including the Discovery Sport, for the Brazilian market. The operation will employ 400 people initially.
JLR currently imports Jaguar and Land Rover models into Brazil, where it sold about 7,300 vehicles in January-September this year.
