Johnson Controls Inc. will work on ways to cut costs and boost the energy density of lithium-ion battery under a new two-year, $5.5 million contract with the U.S. Advanced Battery Consortium. JCI will match the funding.
The deal is the company's third such agreement with USABC, which is part of the U.S. Council for Automotive Research. The contract is co-funded by the U.S. Dept. of Energy.
