Tata Motors Ltd.'s Jaguar Land Rover unit has opened a new engineering test center in Dubai to conduct hot-weather vehicle research, development and testing.
At 11,120 sq ft (3,390 sq m), the new facility is four times the size of JLR's previous test center there. The company says it will be able to assess durability, calibration and off-road handling. The center's engineers will evaluate the powertrains, chassis and heating and cooling systems of JLR vehicles.
