IBM, Aselsan Partner on Metal-Air Batteries, Imaging Chips
IBM Corp. and Turkish defense company Aselsan AS have agreed to collaborate in developing metal-air battery technology and next-generation millimeter wave integrated circuits.
IBM Corp. and Turkish defense company Aselsan AS have agreed to collaborate in developing metal-air battery technology and next-generation millimeter wave integrated circuits.
The companies aim to develop metal-air batteries with at least five times the storage capacity of similarly sized lithium-ion batteries. Aselsan says the effort will target the electrified vehicle market.
The partners also hoped to create new technology from which to develop advanced RF imaging products. They intend to develop integrated circuits that can be used in everything from collision avoidance systems for cars to autonomous landing systems for civilian aircraft.
