Hyundai Forms Engine Venture with Cummins
Hyundai Heavy Industries Co. and Cummins Inc. have created a $66 million, 50:50 joint venture to produce diesel engines in South Korea for use in Hyundai construction and industrial equipment.
Hyundai Heavy Industries Co. and Cummins Inc. have created a $66 million, 50:50 joint venture to produce diesel engines in South Korea for use in Hyundai construction and industrial equipment.
The partners plan to erect a factory in Daegu, Korea, to begin making engines in 2014. The facility will have annual capacity of more than 50,000 units. The powerplants will span a displacement range from 5.9 liters to 8.9 liters and output ranging from 150 horsepower to 300 hp.
