General Motors Co. plans in 2016 to open a new stamping plant at its vehicle assembly complex in Lansing, Mich. The $174 million facility will produce panels for Cadillac ATS and CTS small sport sedans and coupes.
The new plant also will make stampings for the Chevrolet Camaro, whose production has relocated to Lansing from Oshawa, Ontario, for the 2015 model year.
GM says the new operation will save about $14 million annually in logistics costs associated with material handling.
