GM Begins Battery Tests in China
General Motors Co. says its Advanced Technical Center in Shanghai, China, has begun fabricating and testing prototype batteries for electrified vehicles.
General Motors Co. says its Advanced Technical Center in Shanghai, China, has begun fabricating and testing prototype batteries for electrified vehicles.
GM says the center is assessing materials, searching for ways to reduce battery weight and cost and pursuing strategic partnerships with China-based materials and cell suppliers.
The China tech center, which opened last year, houses 62 test labs and nine research labs, including one devoted to advanced powertrain engineering.
