A French government consumer fraud agency reports no evidence that Adam Opel AG committed fraud by manipulating emission test results for diesel-powered vehicles.
DGCCRF (France’s directorate-general for competition, consumer affairs and fraud prevention), bases its conclusion upon manufacturer’s data and tests conducted by two independent groups.
The Opel findings are part of a broader probe into nitrogen oxide emissions from a dozen diesel models sold in France. That continuing investigation has turned up previously reported “evidence of deception” involving certain diesel vehicles from Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, PSA, Renault and Volkswagen. DGCCRF says it has turned over those findings to French courts for further review.
