A Chicago law firm is seeking class-action status for a lawsuit that claims a pattern of sexual harassment and discrimination spanning more than 20 years at Ford Motor Co.'s Chicago Assembly plant, Crain's Chicago Business reports.

The firm filed the complaint in U.S. District Court in Chicago on behalf of four plaintiffs and "hundreds" of others. The plaintiffs report physical attacks, groping and repeated lewd and demeaning comments.

They say they were threatened not to report the incidences. They also say they found no help when they did contact Ford and the United Auto Workers union. One plaintiff, who also has worked in two other Ford factories, says Chicago Assembly has a notably different culture.

Crain's notes that the lawsuit was brought by Hunt & Associates PC, a firm that won a combined $10 million in settlements at the same plant and another Ford facility in 1995 and 1997.
