The Detroit auto show will open its Automobili-D exhibit of advanced mobility options to the public next year.
Held in the 120,000-sq-ft Cobo Center atrium, the three-day tech exhibit was launched at this year’s Detroit auto show in January. But it was open only during media and industry preview days.
More than 180 companies participated in the event, which included displays, panel discussions, demonstrations and test track activities about connected, electric and self-driving vehicles. There also was a startup competition hosted by Techstars Mobility.
In 2018, Automobili-D will remain open through the first weekend of the public show (Jan. 20-21).
Part of the focus will be on personnel recruitment through an event called the Future Automotive Career Exposition to be co-hosted by the show's organizers and the Michigan Economic Development Corp. The event will be supported by a dedicated website with job postings that interested candidates can apply for prior to coming to the show.
