Chrysler Drops Viper Racing Program with IMSA
Chrysler Group LLC is discontinuing its factory-backed Dodge Viper racing team, which competed in this year's inaugural Tudor United SportsCar Championship series run under the auspices of the International Motor Sports Assn. (IMSA). The two-car team drove its last race, the 10-hour Petit le Mans at Road America, on Saturday, finishing third and sixth in its class.
Chrysler Group LLC is discontinuing its factory-backed Dodge Viper racing team, which competed in this year's inaugural Tudor United SportsCar Championship series run under the auspices of the International Motor Sports Assn. (IMSA).
The two-car team drove its last race, the 10-hour Petit le Mans at Road America, on Saturday, finishing third and sixth in its class. The team captured team and driver titles in the GTLM class and finished second in the manufacturer championship this year.
Chrysler says it is redirecting its marketing focus from its SRT brand to the overall Dodge brand product lineup, which includes SRT performance models.
