BMW Preparing Diesel Blitz for U.S.?

BMW AG plans to introduce six new diesel-powered models in the U.S. over the next 18 months, according to F30Post.com, a BMW enthusiasts' Web site.
The blog cites a photo reportedly taken of a slide during an unspecified meeting held by BMW of North America. Titled "New Diesel Products for 2013 and beyond," the image shows models and introduction dates.
BMW currently offers two diesel models in the U.S.: the 335d small sedan and X5 xDrive35d crossover.
According to the slide, the company will expand the lineup with a second diesel for its 3 Series in the first half of next year. That step will be followed by a diesel-powered 3 Series sport wagon in the second half, a 5 Series sedan in the third quarter and an X5 crossover by the end of the year.
The slide indicates that BMW will introduce a diesel-powered 7 Series sedan and X3 crossover model in the first half of 2014.
BMW said earlier this year that it will add 180-hp 4-cylinder and 255-hp 6-cylinder diesels in the American market, but it didn't detail which models would receive them.
