Scooter-sharing service Bird.co says its new Bird One scooter is a “commercial grade” product with a longer product life and more powerful battery.
The new design replaces the original Bird Zero scooter introduced last year. The California-based company says the new model can withstand more than a year of heavy use, compared with 10 months for the original scooter.
The Bird One features a steel-reinforced aluminum frame, hidden cables, enhanced lighting, custom-designed semi-solid tubeless wheels and improved stability over bumpy surfaces. The new model can travel as far as 30 miles per charge.
Fleet pricing starts at $1,300 per scooter. Bird is taking pre-orders and expects to begin delivering the new model this summer.
