So British firm Granta Design (grantadesign.com) has established the Automotive Material Intelligence Consortium (AutoMatlC), which looks to coordinate OEMs and suppliers in the on- and off-highway sectors in a way analogous to other consortia it has been involved with, like the aerospace-focused Material Data Management Consortium, which was established in 2002. What works for aero, they believe, can work for auto.
