Toyota to More Than Double Diesel Capacity in Thailand
Toyota Motor Corp. says it will invest 40 billion yen ($510 million) to boost its diesel engine capacity in Thailand to 610,000 units in 2015 from 290,000 units now.
Toyota Motor Corp. says it will invest 40 billion yen ($510 million) to boost its diesel engine capacity in Thailand to 610,000 units in 2015 from 290,000 units now.
The engines built by its Siam Toyota Manufacturing Co. unit are fitted in Toyota pickup trucks, minivans and SUVs made in Thailand for the local market, according to the company. It says those vehicles also may eventually be exported to other emerging markets.
