Toyota Motor Corp. is launching a pilot program this week in Fukuoka, Japan, for a smartphone app that will allow users to search, book, coordinate and pay for multiple types of transportation.

Toyota is partnering with Nishi-Nippon Railroad Co. and eight companies that provide data about traffic, shopping and event logistics on the program, which is called “my route.” The service covers public transportation (buses, trains and subways) and various for-hire vehicles (taxis, rental cars, ride-hailing and shared cars and bicycles).

Toyota will develop and run the app and payment platform. Nishi-Nippon will offer a one-day pass exclusive to users of the app. Watch a video about my route HERE.
