Toyota Expands Use of Fuel Cell Forklifts at Japan Plant
Toyota Motor Corp. has adde 20 fuel cell-powered forklifts at its Motomachi Plant located in Toyota City, Japan.
Toyota Motor Corp. has added 20 fuel cell-powered forklifts at its Motomachi Plant located in Toyota City, Japan.
Toyota says the forklifts can be fully refueled with hydrogen in about three minutes. The vehicles also can supply electricity back to the facility if needed during an emergency.
The carmaker’s Toyota Industries Corp. affiliate built the forklifts and a hydrogen refueling station for the Motomachi plant. The program is supported by joint initiative led by Japan’s Ministry of the Environment and Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry.
