Romanian Web site Dailybusiness.ro says Tata plans to invest €1 billion to turn a former Nokia Corp. facility near Cluj, Romania, into an auto plant. Dailybusiness says the Mumbai-based company would produce cars, commercial vehicles and buses there for local and export markets.
Tata currently sells a few thousand imported cars per year in Italy and Spain, according to Automotive News Europe.
