Suzuki, Toyota Resume Production Egypt
Toyota Motor Corp. and Suzuki Motor Corp. say they have relaunched contract assembly operations in Egypt in spite of continuing civil unrest there.
Toyota Motor Corp. and Suzuki Motor Corp. say they have relaunched contract assembly operations in Egypt in spite of continuing civil unrest there.
Both companies suspended production last week as turmoil spread across Egypt following the country's military coup. Suzuki makes commercial vehicles and Toyota builds the Fortuner SUV in the country through separate local partners.
General Motors Co., which closed an office and plant in Egypt on Aug. 14, has not yet decided when to reopen them.
