Suzuki Motor Corp. will resume two-shift production in December at its assembly plant in Esztergom, Hungary, MTI reports.
CEO Ryoichi Oura tells the news service the increased capacity will enable the factory to begin making Suzuki's new C-segment Vitara small crossover that debuted at the Paris auto show in October. The model will go on sale in Europe in January.
The Esztergom plant dropped to single-shift operation earlier this year when production ended for the Splash minivan and SX4 small crossover. The facility also makes the Swift mini-hatchback and SX4 S-Cross midsize crossover.
