Output will begin with the Peugeot 208, a small five-door hatch also built in Trnava, Slovakia. The company says the new plant will supply cars to 80 markets.
Morocco also hosts two assembly plants operated by Renault. The country said last year it intends to expand its carmaking capacity to 1 million units by 2025.
