PSA Might Close Aulnay Factory This Year
PSA Peugeot Citroen is considering a plan to shutter its assembly plant in Aulnay, France, as early as September because strikes continue to disrupt work there, according to Bloomberg News, which cites unidentified sources.

PSA Peugeot Citroen is considering a plan to shutter its assembly plant in Aulnay, France, as early as September because strikes continue to disrupt work there, according to Bloomberg News, which cites unidentified sources.
The company announced last July it would end production in Aulnay sometime in 2014 as part of a restructuring plan to stem heavy losses. PSA has said it will shed at least half the facility's 3,300 workers and relocate the balance to a nearby plant.
But a strike by the militant CGT union has slowed output to a trickle in Aulnay. PSA tells Bloomberg that the factory, which builds the Citroen C3 supermini, is making only 40-50 cars per day compared with its daily capacity of 250 vehicles.
The CGT is suing PSA to block the restructuring.
