Pandora Hires Ex-Ford Connected-Car Exec VanDagens
Music streaming service Pandora Media Inc. has hired Doug VanDagens, former global director of connected services at Ford Motor Co., to be its head of partnerships and strategy.
Music streaming service Pandora Media Inc. has hired Doug VanDagens, former global director of connected services at Ford Motor Co., to be its head of partnerships and strategy.
VanDagens began his new job two days ago, Automotive News reports. His primary duties will be to develop new alliances with carmakers, in-car software platform providers and developers of services for autonomous and ride-sharing vehicles.
At Ford, VanDagens helped the carmaker adopt over-the-air software updates, Waze navigation, wi-fi hot spot connectivity and multiple connectivity apps. He also is past chairman of the 2-year-old SmartDeviceLink Consortium Inc., a partnership devoted to the development of open-source connectivity software.
